5 Beauty Essentials for Your Beach Vacation

Yes! Summer is finally here! Summer brings with it longer days, warmer weather and hopefully, a vacation or two for you. Beach destinations are a popular choice for summer getaways. Packing clothing is easy, since all you really need are a few t-shirts, swimwear and flip-flops. However, beauty and skincare is a different story. Since the weather will probably be very different from what your skin is use to, you need to adjust your skincare routine accordingly. Here are 5 beauty essentials for every beach vacation:

Sunscreen

The number one most important product to bring to a beach vacation is sunscreen. While lying out in the sun feels good, it can certainly be damaging to your skin. Use a sunscreen that is at least SPF 30 (or even higher depending on the amount of time you plan to spend in the sun). Be sure to apply to any areas of your body exposed to the sun, including your neck and face. Try the Coppertone Water Babies SPF 50.

Aloe

Sometimes when you’re applying sunscreen, you miss a spot or two. The next day, your skin is red and sore and you realize you have a sunburn. While the only way to heal a sunburn is to just let it be, there are things you can apply to it to ease the pain – the most effective being aloe. Aloe has a greatly soothing quality and will help cool the pain of a sunburn. You can find many moisturizing lotions that have aloe infused in it, like the Jergens Soothing Aloe Relief Skin Comforting Moisturizer.

Hair Detangler

Being at the beach and swimming in the ocean waters can spell out disaster for your hair. One of the most hard-to-fix hair problems you will come across is tangled hair. Sometimes, brushing your hair just isn’t enough, which is why you need a detangling spray. A great detangling spray is the Neil George Detangle Nourishment Spray, which also includes UV protection.

Facial Cleanser

While hotels will provide you with some basic toiletries, most do not provide facial cleansers. Don’t forget to bring your favorite cleanser. Otherwise, you’d have to use bar soap on your face, which can be very drying. A great daily cleanser is the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.

Bandaids & First Aid Kit

You never know what can happen so be prepared. You want to bring with you first aid essentials or at the very least, bandaids. In case of any cut or scrape while you are out exploring the sights, keep a few in your pocket. Bandaids are also great to protect your feet from uncomfortable shoes. You can’t go wrong with the Band-Aid Sheer Adhesive Bandages.
