Easy Summer Hairdos

These low-maintenance, natural looking hairstyles look and feel great. Your hair will be soft, touchable, and beautiful. They don’t take long to do, either – it is summertime after all, and you don’t have time to fuss with your hair for hours. You might like these sexy summer hairstyles so well that you’ll continue wearing them into the winter months.

Side Ponytail

The side pony is easy to do, and you look cute and pulled together. An assymetrical updo is flattering for all face shapes. The look is soft, without being sloppy or looking too ‘done’. It’s the perfect look for day or night.

Work a smoothing gel – Matrix Biolage Smoothing Gel works great – through wet hair. Blow-dry your hair to one side and then use your fingers to gather it low under one ear. Secure it with an elastic band, loosely. You don’t want a tight pony; a loose, casual look is best here.

High Ponytail

A high pony isn’t just for cheerleaders. A relaxed pony gives you loose hair with lots of movement. It’s sexy and playful, and perfect for summer.

Use a styling cream to set your hair. Curl the ends. Then sweep hair up, secure it high and wrap a few strands of hair around the elastic band. Mist on hair spray for hold.

Side Bun

It’s elegant, relaxed, yet still looks soft and invites a touch. You want a few strands of hair to fall around your face, so that you don’t look severe.

Make a low side ponytail, leaving a few pieces loose to frame your face. Twist it and wrap it into a figure-eight shape. Push it against the back of your head against your scalp, and tuck in the ends. Use jeweled hairpins or little barrettes to hold it in place. You’ll want to use a finishing spray to hold it in place. Biosilk Finishing Spray works well. It gives you a firm hold without stickiness. It will give you a lot of shine, as well.

Cute Pixie

If your hair is too short to put up, there are other alternatives. Soft bangs and a short hairstyle can be just as attractive as long. Even if it’s not the cut you have, you can give yourself a faux pixie ‘do. It’s cute and casual and just right for summer.

Use a lightweight smoothing styling cream and blow-dry your hair smooth. Blow it forward and give yourself side bangs. Then smooth pomade through your hair from roots to ends. If you have any long pieces, tuck them behind your ears and use pins to secure them.

Naturally Curly

Do curls without frizz this summer if you have naturally curly hair. Use TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Booster and Rock Amplify to separate and define curls. Apply both products to wet or damp hair, then either blow dry using a diffuser or scrunch and go. Your hair will look natural and soft, and no matter the humidity factor, you won’t get the frizzies.
