Is your hair dry from over processing or chemical treatments? If you have stressed hair, you can make it look better quickly. You’ll once again have soft, moisturized, luscious locks. All you have to do is follow a few simple steps.

When you lighten your hair, it can become dry. If you are darkening your hair, the cause of your dry hair probably isn’t from the color. It could be from the heat treatments you use, or even from the type of shampoo or conditioner you’re using. Try using Chi Silk Infusion. It’s a wonder treatment for dry hair, and it keeps further damage from heat treatments at bay.

Don’t over process your hair. If you’re only using a single color, it should be done no more than once a month. You can go two to three months with highlights. They’ll still look good, and hair damage will be minimized.

Use shampoo for color-treated hair to protect the color and keep hair looking healthy. Use conditioner for color treated hair at the same time. Leave the conditioner on your hair for at least three minutes while you’re in the shower. The steam will open up the cuticle and let the conditioner really penetrate the hair.

Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week. Your hair will be silky, shiny, and healthy looking. Even if you don’t color or process your hair, you should use a deep conditioner occasionally. It will make a difference in the way your hair looks and feels.

Do you color your hair? Do you have a problem with it drying out? What do you use to combat dryness? Let me know on twitter, facebook, or leave me a message here on the blog.

Sun exposure can damage your hair and make it brittle, especially if you have dry, color treated, or chemically treated hair. And how damaging to your hair is the chlorine in pool water? We’ve all heard the horror stories – and maybe have first hand knowledge – of hair discoloration after a lot of swimming in the pool. My own hair once had a distinctly green hue, and it’s not a pretty look.

You know that you’re supposed to wear sunblock or sunscreen to protect your skin, but what can you do to protect your hair? Luckily, there are lots of products available now that contain UV filters. Hair sprays, shampoos, and conditioners with these hair protectants are perfect for the summer months.

Biosilk Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner are great choices for summertime hair. They moisturize dry hair and protect it from breaking, which is important, as your hair is more prone to breakage in the summertime. The UV filters in them protect your hair from the harsh effects of UV rays.

You can also use a leave-in conditioner after sun exposure even if you’re not shampooing. It will give you a little extra moisturizing after you’ve spent a day in the summer sun. A good color protecting leave in conditioner like Rusk Sensories is a must for color treated hair. Believe me when I tell you that you don’t ever want to look in the mirror and see green or discolored hair.

Wear a hat: Find a hat you like and wear it as much as possible. Hats help keep hair sun damage to a minimum. As a bonus, they keep the summer sun’s harsh rays off your face. Cowboy hat or visor, It doesn’t matter what kind of hat you wear as long as you make sure it has a broad brim. Your hair and your face will thank you for protecting them from the sun.

Do you protect your hair as well as your skin from the harsh summer sun? Do you have a summer hair horror story? Let me know on twitter, Facebook, or just leave me a message here on the blog.

This review seemed especially appropriate considering the time of year. I know I’m not the only person to hanker for beaches and water during the summer, and Bumble & Bumble Seaweed conditioner just seemed like the perfect product to spotlight. It’s a lightweight daily detangler and conditioner, something that I’m always looking for in the summer. More water exposure means dryer hair that needs more moisture, and this conditioner promises moisturized hair. Made with marine greens, the conditioning formula nourishes, softens, and helps manage freshly-washed hair.

I kind of love this stuff! I’m a fan after trying it. Not only did a whiff of the clean, fresh smell make me long for the beach, this rich conditioner is much more than just a simple hair moisturizer or detangler. The scent is great. It smells clean, with none of the heavy, cloying perfumes that can clash horribly with any other scent you wear. Yes, it helps get those pesky knots out of your hair, as it promises *especially if you have long, thick, or coarse hair* but it calms the cuticle as well, giving you velvety-smooth hair in just one step. It works best if you use it in combination with Bumble & Bumble Seaweed Shampoo.

I used this with the Seaweed Shampoo, and my hair has never felt so soft. It feels healthy, smooth, and it smells fresh. If you have color-treated, damaged, or chemically treated hair, it’s perfect for you: Your hair will be moisturized and it will look great.

Just place a quarter sized amount in the palm of your hand and smooth it through your hair. If you have long, coarse, or thick hair that tangles easily, comb the conditioner through, and then rinse out in the shower. No more tangles, no more flyaway hair, and no more frizzies. Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Conditioner won’t weigh your hair down, and you won’t be left with limp, lifeless hair, either.

Anybody else use Bumble and Bumble hair products? Tell me about them. Like them? Don’t like them? Let me know on Twitter, Facebook, or just leave me a comment here on the blog.
